The Tutu Project is one of those great creative ventures borne out of passion. When photographer Bob Carey’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer he began to take pictures of himself wearing a pink tutu in locations around the world – something to make her laugh during her chemo treatments. Bob called it “self-therapy.” The pictures, not surprisingly, went viral. Bob and Linda started a foundation with 20 percent of the Tutu Project proceeds from the photos going to breast cancer research and Deutsche Telekom has made several videos. It’s an example of how doing something meaningful – and nice – can work on a number of different levels, whether intentional or not. It will also make you smile.
